Role Overview:

We are looking for a PHP Software Engineer to integrate our teams. This role is focused on the development and maintenance of  business-critical systems, where reliability, code quality, and collaboration are key. You will work in a technically challenging environment, contributing to the evolution of monolithic systems while following good engineering practices and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

What you will do:

• Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of backend systems using PHP;
• Work on monolithic architectures, including integration with SOAP services and flat files;
• Develop and maintain applications using a proprietary internal framework and Laravel components;
• Collaborate within cross-functional teams to deliver features aligned with product and business goals;
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, ensuring quality, performance, and reliability;
• Participate in code reviews and apply best practices such as Clean Code and unit testing;
• Support Continuous Delivery practices and continuous improvement of team processes;
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in close collaboration with team members.

What you are like:

• Proficient in PHP development, with experience working at mid-level or senior complexity;
• Experienced with Laravel and modern PHP ecosystems;
• Comfortable working with legacy and monolithic architectures;
• Proficient in unit testing and familiar with testing best practices;
• Able to work with tightly coupled backend and frontend codebases (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery);
• Familiar with MySQL databases and relational data modelling;
• Knowledgeable about cloud-based infrastructures (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code concepts is a plus;
• A collaborative team player with good communication and problem-solving skills;
• Fluent in English.
