Role Overview:

We are looking for a Principal Engineer Lead - E-commerce to join one of our clients in the retail and digital commerce sector. In this role, you will act as the technical reference for a large-scale e-commerce domain, being accountable for end-to-end technical delivery while defining and driving the technology strategy in close collaboration with business and product stakeholders.

You will coordinate multiple engineering teams and Tech Leads, ensuring architectural consistency, delivery excellence, operational ownership, and the adoption of modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted software development and DevOps methodologies.

What you will do:

• Own the end-to-end technical delivery lifecycle, ensuring successful development, quality assurance, releases, and operational excellence across multiple engineering teams;
• Lead and align Tech Leads and engineering teams, facilitating technical decision-making, resolving cross-team dependencies, and removing delivery blockers;
• Define and execute the technical strategy and architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term platform evolution;
• Identify, communicate, and mitigate technical and delivery risks related to architecture, dependencies, scalability, and team capacity;
• Drive the adoption of DevOps principles, shared engineering standards, governance practices, and AI-assisted development approaches to improve productivity and delivery efficiency.

What you are like:

• Experienced in leading multiple engineering teams in senior technical leadership roles such as Technology Delivery Lead, Engineering Manager, Principal Engineer, or Senior Tech Lead;
• Proficient in Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFRA), including architecture design, customization, integration, and operational management of e-commerce platforms;
• Experienced in React and modern headless e-commerce architectures;
• Strong knowledge of software architecture, technical governance, solution design, and large-scale digital commerce ecosystems;
• Skilled at stakeholder management, capable of translating business objectives into technical roadmaps and delivery plans;
• Experienced in DevOps operating models, CI/CD practices, platform ownership, and cross-functional agile delivery environments;
• Familiar with AI-assisted software development, including coding copilots, code agents, shared engineering rules, and development accelerators;
• Knowledge of Salesforce Service Cloud, Salesforce OMS, Data Cloud/Data 360, or API integration platforms is considered a strong advantage;
• Comfortable managing technical risk, balancing technical debt with business priorities, and driving strategic decision-making;
• Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence teams without direct hierarchical authority.
