Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer – Snowflake to integrate our teams into a high-impact data platform environment. In this role, you will take ownership of the end-to-end data lifecycle within Snowflake, building and maintaining trusted, analytics-ready data layers while leveraging AI-assisted development practices to accelerate delivery, improve quality, and ensure consistency across the platform.

What you will do:

• Build and maintain bronze, silver, and gold data layers in Snowflake, ensuring reliable data pipelines for analytics and downstream consumption;
• Design and implement scalable data models aligned with canonical domain structures (e.g., financial entities, reporting and compliance datasets);
• Develop and operate Snowflake Streams, Tasks, and Stored Procedures to orchestrate efficient, incremental data processing;
• Ensure data quality by implementing validation frameworks, monitoring, and alerting to maintain trust in Gold-layer outputs;
• Establish robust ingestion patterns using Fivetran-synced data and Secure Data Shares, ensuring clean transitions between data layers;
• Leverage AI-assisted development to accelerate SQL transformations, automate documentation, generate test cases, and streamline engineering workflows;
• Build internal tooling using Streamlit within Snowflake to support operational processes such as data validation, reconciliation, and workflows;
• Collaborate with BI teams to structure data models optimised for Power BI, Qlik, and other analytics use cases while avoiding duplication and technical debt.

What you are like:

• Proficient in Snowflake, including advanced SQL, data modelling, query optimisation, and usage of Streams, Tasks, and Stored Procedures;
• Experienced in building and maintaining layered data architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold or equivalent medallion frameworks);
• Skilled in designing robust data ingestion and processing patterns, including working with tools such as Fivetran or similar ELT solutions;
• Strong in Python development for data engineering utilities and operational tooling, including building applications with Streamlit;
• Experienced in applying AI-assisted development techniques to improve productivity, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance delivery quality;
• Knowledgeable in enabling downstream analytics, structuring datasets for BI tools such as Power BI or Qlik, and aligning data models with business needs;
• Strong communicator, able to collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders and ensure clarity in data delivery;
• Fluent in English.
