ECAD Consultant:DECSKILL

We would like to meet an ECAD Consultant for a project in Lisbon.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and administer the ECAD environment, including EDM, DS-CR, and CR-8000, supporting development teams in electronic design and data management activities.
  • Support development teams in the creation, maintenance, and management of schematics, layouts, and electronic assemblies.
  • Monitor ECAD applications and systems, analyze logs, identify root causes, and resolve complex technical malfunctions.
  • Handle and follow up on incidents and service requests, ensuring sustainable resolution and proper documentation.
  • Implement security patches, technical workarounds, and application updates while ensuring system stability and availability.
  • Perform testing and validation following technical changes and updates to minimize operational impact.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge articles using MkDocs and Markdown.
  • Manage and follow up on defects and technical issues using Polarion.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and automation within the ECAD operational landscape.
  • Develop and maintain custom tools, scripts, and system integrations to improve operational efficiency and automate repetitive tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and electronics development teams, developers, and interface partners.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across ECAD operations, processes, and technical environments.
Requirements:
  • Degree or technical qualification in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field; equivalent qualification as a state-certified electrical engineer is also considered.
  • More than 5 years of experience in electronic development, ECAD support, schematic design, or PCB layout processes.
  • Strong experience with Zuken CR-8000 or another professional electronic design/ECAD tool.
  • Good understanding of R&D development processes, particularly hardware and electronics development.
  • Experience in ECAD operations and electronic design data management.
  • Experience in the PLM domain is a plus, particularly with Teamcenter and EDA Client.
  • Solid experience in application monitoring, log analysis, troubleshooting, and structured incident management.
  • Good knowledge of Windows, Linux, and SQL databases, preferably Oracle and/or MS SQL.
  • Familiarity with PuTTY and WinSCP; knowledge of AWS is a plus.
  • Strong programming and scripting skills, particularly with C#, C++, PowerShell, Visual Basic, AutoIt, and/or CMD.
  • Experience developing scripts, tools, or integrations to extend and automate ECAD applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate complex technical issues.
  • Good documentation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and engineering teams.
  • Proactive mindset and willingness to identify sustainable technical improvements and automation opportunities.
  • Fluent in English (mandatory).
